1.1 Preamble
Pillars for Inclusive Community Health Development (PICHD) is a novel registered local not for profit making, non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to promoting inclusive community health for all. Our organisation recognises health inequalities and their devastating impact on vulnerable populations such as Orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs), children with Special Education Needs and disabilities, young people, women, the disabled, economically disadvantaged persons, the aged and marginalised and the chronically ill groups in society. Therefore, PICHD seeks to engage with global, national and local partners to reduce public health problems through health system strengthening, community health system strengthening and community development. It is our view that these interventions will contribute to increased Universal health coverage (UHC) for all people and communities through promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative health services.
